Start with a clean carton. Turn it over so that the bottom is now on top. ( This will be the mattress. ) Measure the circumference of the top of the carton ( the mattress) and add 1 inch (for overlap). Cut a piece of lace that length. This gets glued around the bottom part of the sides of the carton . This is your bedskirt!
To cover the mattress, choose a pretty fabric. Measure the length and width of the top . Add 7 inches to the length and 7 inches to the width. Cut the fabric to that size. Fold under 1/2 inch all around the fabric, and sew or glue it.
Lie the fabric on top of the "mattress", letting it hang down 3 inches on every side. Glue it in place.
